Essex Boys & Girls Clubs

NCS (National Citizen Service)

Delivering NCS Community Experiences...

to help young people aged 15-17 (up to 25 with additional needs) across Essex to become world-ready and work-ready.

What is NCS?

NCS is a nationwide youth movement focused on supporting young people aged 15-17 to find their strengths, build confidence and become world-and work-ready.

Since 2009, NCS has supported over 750,000 young people to build independence, boost their work-readiness and make a positive impact on the world around them!

NCS experiences include a range of residential, online and community-based opportunities all focused on helping young people to have fun, develop skills and build relationships!

EBGC and NCS

Essex Boys & Girls Clubs have a long-standing relationship with NCS and have been providing opportunities for the young people of Essex for more than a decade.

This year, EBGC will be providing opportunities for young people to take part across Essex, Southend & Thurrock with experiences taking place throughout the year!

Experiences will offer young people the opportunity to take part in:

Interactive Life Skills Sessions

Employability Workshops

Social Action Projects

Adventure & Team Building Activities and Challenges

The Government announced that from the 1st of April 2025, NCS will no longer be continuing. However, we are closely monitoring the Governments new youth strategy and what this could mean for future projects. In the meantime, we deliver a wide variety of programmes and events for youth groups across Essex and East London, check out our events page to find out more!
