Sonny Hardy is a current professional boxer who boasts an impressive record of 9-0.
‘The Instigator’, as he goes by in the boxing world, made his professional debut in July 2023 at the home of British boxing, York Hall. Since then, he has carried on his winning run as he looks to make it all the way to the top.
This standout boxing record hasn’t happened by chance, with Sonny’s boxing career starting years before at his local amateur club. During his amateur career, Sonny collected many notable accolades, none more so than winning our own NABGC National Amateur Boxing Championships on multiple occasions. In fact, his very last amateur bout was in Bridlington in 2022, where he claimed glory in these championships.
Since turning professional, Sonny has stayed involved with EBGC. In July 2024, he was a special guest at our annual EBGC Awards Evening, helping to hand out trophies to successful young people, and in November 2024 he was on commentary duty for the stream of our NABGC National Amateur Boxing Championships Class D Finals that took place at Braxted Park Estate.
Sonny hasn’t forgotten what got him to where he is today as he still regularly attends his local club, Chalvedon ABC, where he helps coach some of the younger boxers.
Sonny was inducted into the EBGC Hall of Fame at our Celebrity Golf Classic in July 2025.
