Essex Boys & Girls Clubs

EBGC Hall of fame title card (1)

Robert Rollins is a former English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Essex, as well as representing Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. Rob primarily played as a wicket keeper and operated as a right-handed batsman.

In his 7-year Essex career, he played 69 first-class matches, in which he scored 2,258 runs, took 158 catches, and made 21 stumpings. In his younger years, he was also a regular in the England youth teams, with injuries hampering his chances of representing his country at the senior level.

Throughout Rob’s youth career, he was part of the London Federation of Boys Clubs, playing against Merchant Taylors School, Winchester College, Dulwich College, Surrey U16s, and Sussex U16s.

Rob’s involvement with EBGC has continued to the current day as he has an active role in the three representative cricket squads that we now run. He was instrumental in the development of our newly formed girls’ cricket side in 2024, as well as helping to run our cricket trials and coaching at a number of their games.

Rob was inducted into the EBGC Hall of Fame at our Awards Evening in July 2025.
