EBGC Hall of fame title card (1)

Colin McMillan is a former British professional boxer who competed from 1988 to 1997. Sweet C, as he is known in the boxing world, won the British featherweight title in 1991 and added the Commonwealth title the following year. His biggest success as a professional boxer was defeating Italian Maurizio Stecca for the WBO World featherweight title in 1992, in doing so becoming one of Britain’s leading lights of the time.

Growing up, McMillan was always a keen sportsman, excelling in a number of sports. However, it was at the local amateur boxing club, Barking Boys ABC, that he found his passion for boxing. He gained many amateur honours and represented England on multiple occasions. He featured in the Boys Clubs Henry Cooper’s Golden Belt series, which saw young boxers from around the country compete against each other over a series of episodes shown on Channel 4.

Colin is currently an advisor for former NABC Champion and current unbeaten professional Billy Adams, passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of British boxers. Billy is in good hands, with Colin also being the former manager of Olympic Gold medallist Audley Harrison.

In recent years, Colin has supported EBGC by attending events such as our annual charity golf day and our NABGC National Amateur Boxing Championships Finals. His charity work was recognised in 2019 when he received the British Empire Medal from the Queen.
