Arnie Dawson is a 8-1 professional boxer with 4 KO’s to his name. ‘The Terminator’ as he is known in the boxing world, is also the current Commonwealth Youth Lightweight Champion, having successfully won this belt at the Sunderland Live Arena in June 2025. Since turning professional, Arnie has boxed locally at the home of British Boxing, York Hall, as well as further afield in Texas as part of a USA vs UK professional show where he won by a clinical stoppage.

Arnie has been involved with EBGC for a number of years, both with his boxing but also The Respect Project. He was part of the project when in school which involved activity days, life skills sessions and a week residential in the Lake District.

He also competed in our NABGC National Amateur Boxing Championships on numerous occasions, challenging against some of the best boxers in the UK. He was 3 times Eastern Counties Champion as well as getting to the national semi-final stage.

His connection to his local boxing club has continued as he has transitioned into the professional game. Arnie still coaches at Holland Shore ABC, an affiliated club of EBGC and where he started his boxing journey over 10 years ago. Alongside his coach, Gareth, he helps to coach the young kids from beginners right up to those who are competing for the club. He has also helped with boxing projects that EBGC have been delivering.
