The 2017 Nepal Team have been selected!

Since 1979 we have been taking groups of young people to the remote mountain village of Barpak. This year there will be a team of 12 young people from Essex and 2 staff members going trekking up to the village this August to continue all the previous hard work and development.

On Saturday 25th April 2015 a powerful earthquake hit Nepal. Thousands died, and thousands more were injured and made homeless. The epicentre of the earthquake was just 5 miles from Barpak. 90% of the village was destroyed and many were dead. The football pitch that we had helped to build was used to set up temporary shelters for families and as a landing site for aid helicopters.

This year we plan to continue supporting the village to re built what was devastated by the earthquake. At the moment the group have been busy fundraising and planning their trip. We have recently attended a training weekend at Maes Y Lade aiming to get the group ready for Nepal, working together, testing their fitness and talking about fundraising.  During the week the young people climbed several mountains including Pen Y Fan the highest mountain South Wales, spent a day canoeing down the River Wye and taking part in team challenges.
