The angling championships take place on lakes across the county where the fishing is great for both beginners and the more experienced angler.
Each team entering the championships is made up of four young people. All team members are also included in the individual competitions. Points are awarded to teams at each match. Overall winners are calculated on results over the series of matches.
Matches take place during May, June and July and winners of the event get the opportunity to represent their club and county in a regional match against other counties.
Expert coaching and training is also available at the matches from locals who fish the waters regularly.
All young people that are members of our clubs aged between 11 and 19 are invited to take part. If your Club is interested in taking part or you would like further information then check the calendar on the events and activities page and contact the EBGC office (see details below).
For those that enjoy fishing in slightly more adventurous waters there is the opportunity to take part in Sea Fishing trips through EBGC.
The fishing day lasts about 8 hours and the average journey time once on the boat to the fishing grounds is approximately one hour leaving you six hours of fishing.
The trips includes all equipment, bait and coaching. Trips are dependant upon weather conditions. The most common fish caught are tope, bass, cod, whiting and thornbacks.
If your Club is interested in taking part or you would like further information then check the calendar on the events and activities page and contact the EBGC office (see details below).
