First Hand Information – Variety Club

Having attended my first Variety Club Youth Club Committee Meeting recently to help with the distribution of their Grants, I am now in a position to help you know what they will and what they wont fund.

Firstly, they do have a reasonable amount of funding available and the Chairman of the Youth Club Committee is more than happly to recommend to the Committee, support for applications that meet the criteria.

Secondly, they like to see that the Club has done something to help itself with funding and that the application is realistic.

Their website  www.varietyclub.org.uk/how-we-help/youth-clubs has all the details, along with the Application Form, and guidelines

New ideas go down well.  A Club in Kent has applied for equipment to run Curling and the Variety Club agreed to fund the purchase of the equipment.  Boxing equipment, or replacements for old, broken or worn out equipment is usually supported.

We have a place on the Youth Club Committee and can speak for our Club applications so please apply, or speak to me for advice.  Basically, if we don’t apply and use this money, it will not be available in the future.  Its no good moaning that times are hard, if we ignore opportunities that are available.

The next meeting is 4th April, so get busy.
