Each of our affiliated clubs is independent and run by volunteers. Their affiliation to Essex Boys & Girls Clubs ensures that they are properly set up and run by a Committee. Volunteers are needed for a range of roles, including supervision, youth work, sports coaching, administration (including being part of the Committee to decide how the club is run), driving, cleaning, catering, fundraising, bookkeeping and general help, as well as sharing your own special skills or interests with the young people.
Each club will have different needs and we can put you in touch with those local to you, or you can find their details on our Clubs page. You may need to have a CRB check, which, once you know which club you'll be volunteering with, we can help you arrange. Speak to any of the team on 01245 264783.

Volunteering is a really useful way to try something out and get some experience, whatever age you are. You never know who you might meet and where it might lead...
We run lots of fun events for young people throughout the year and are always in need of helpful people who want to support our work. You don't have to have experience of working with young people or the specific activity - you just need enthusiasm and a belief in the principles of the charity.
You can take your pick of our enormous range of activities to commit for a few hours, a whole day, or even join a project or expedition for a few days or weeks. We're working on offering plenty of perks and though you're not paid we're very, very nice to you!
We're looking for helpful people to register arrivals, manage the door, marshall people, prepare and serve food, assist instructors, help host and troubleshoot at our events all over the county.
If you'd like to get involved, please contact charlie@essexboysandgirlsclubs.org
We're looking for coaches, referees, line judges, umpires, timekeepers, scorers and generally helpful people, in a range of sports. If you need experience, are working towards a qualification, or just fancy helping out, please contact charlie@essexboysandgirlsclubs.org
We're looking for volunteers who are qualified minibus drivers or have a D1 Entitlement on their drivers licence and are interested in becoming qualified to drive as a volunteer. You might be asked to drive our buses in Essex and East London, up to the Lake District, or to help on one of our team tours or fundraising trips. If this is you, please contact davids@essexboysandgirlsclubs.org
We're looking for volunteers to support our National Citizen Service projects. You can volunteer for anything from 1 week to the entire 8 weeks. You can come with us to the Lake District for 1-4 weeks, join us at Stubbers for 1-4 weeks, drive in your local community or pop in for an evening to talk about your favourite charity. You can join a particular group for their whole process, or a part of it, or be stationed at a particular centre. We need cooks and minibus drivers, as well as people who are prepared to climb a mountain alongside a young person, to share their experience.
If this is for you, please contact keithc@essexboysandgirlsclubs.org
